MAS has started war for AirAsia ! A gigantic smart moves by MAS recently may be or not be hurting AirAsia everybody can fly. My personal opinion is : This is the brilliant idea to cater the lost of income for the few years back by our national flyer, MAS.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian Airline System Bhd, which will be launching its Let’s Fly Malaysia campaign on Wednesday, expects the campaign to bring in RM30mil.

Chairman Datuk Dr Mohd Munir Abdul Majid said the three-month campaign was held in conjunction with the nation’s 50th Merdeka celebrations.

“We will be offering fares from as low as RM1 for domestic travel and RM10 for international destinations.

“MAS will offer low fares to about 100 destinations we fly to, in addition to many attractive travel packages and customer promotions,” he said after the company’s AGM on Monday.

A total of 200,000 seats with fares starting from RM1 will be offered under the “50-hour Open House” online promotion starting from 9am on June 20 until 11am on June 22.

Fares would start from RM1 for flights within Peninsular, and RM10 for travel between Kuala Lumpur and East Malaysia, and to five Asean destinations namely Bangkok, Phuket, Cebu, Jakarta and Phnom Penh.

The traveling period is the online promotion is from Sept 3 to Sept 30.

Munir said Mas would also be offering other promotions such as “Supersavers” and “Global Sale” nearer to August 31.

The airline would also complement its the low fares promotion by discounted Golden Holidays travel packages, business class initiatives and customer focused events.

All fares quoted exclude airports taxes, fuel surcharges and other fees, and are applicable for one-way travel only.
